You already have valuable creative skills and experiences to share.
Whether you're dreaming of leading your first workshop or looking to develop an established creative teaching practice, we're here to help you build the confidence, practical skills and knowledge to create inspiring creative experiences.
Because creativity is meant to be shared.
If you've ever found yourself thinking...
"I'd love to run workshops, but I don't know where to begin"
"People keep telling me I should teach, but I'm not sure I'm experienced enough"
"I've delivered workshops before, but I'd love to feel more confident"
"I don't know what to charge, how to plan a workshop or where to find participants"
You're not alone.
Every creative workshop leader starts somewhere.
The Creative Workshop Coaches exists to help artists, makers and creative arts practitioners turn their skills into engaging, enjoyable and rewarding workshop experiences.
The Creative Workshop Coaches was founded by artists Melissa and Penny, who share a passion for helping creatives build confidence, share their skills and create meaningful workshop experiences.
Between us we've spent years building creative businesses, exhibiting our work, delivering workshops to thousands of participants, and working with schools, galleries, charities, festivals, community organisations and businesses. Through this work we've seen first-hand the difference that creative workshops can make—not only to individuals, but to communities as a whole.
Along the way we found ourselves being asked the same questions time and again:
How do I start teaching?
What should I charge?
How do I plan a workshop?
How do I attract bookings?
How do I make sure my workshops are inclusive, engaging and professionally run?
We realised that while there are countless opportunities to learn creative techniques, very few help artists become confident, capable workshop leaders.
That's why we created The Creative Workshop Coaches.
As our vision grew, we were joined by Amy Dalton Hardy, whose experience and insight helped shape our next chapter. Amy supported us in establishing our Community Interest Company (CIC) and became our third director, helping ensure that our organisation is built on strong foundations with community impact at its heart.
Together, we combine extensive experience across professional arts practice, education, community engagement and creative enterprise. Everything we teach is grounded in real-world experience—from developing successful workshop programmes and securing funding to working with schools, organisations and community groups across the UK.
Our mission is simple: to equip artists, makers and creative practitioners with the skills, confidence and practical knowledge they need to deliver exceptional workshops and build sustainable creative careers.
We believe that when creatives are empowered to teach, they don't just strengthen their own businesses—they inspire others, nurture wellbeing, preserve valuable skills and make creativity more accessible to everyone.
That's why we're here, and it's what drives everything we do.
