From thinking about workshops to running them
Sharon's Story...
"I have been making luxury leather journals and sketchbooks for 14 years, selling online and at art events. Since Covid, I've been asked a lot about running workshops. Having never taught before, the thought of it was quite daunting.
I decided 2025 would be the year I gave it a go, so my first step was taking Penny and Melissa's workshop on how to run a workshop.
The course was very informative and thought-provoking, covering things I hadn't even considered, such as health and safety, cancellations and how to handle them, finding the right venues and where to advertise. The group was also a great source of information, with everyone bringing their own experiences and ideas.
Both Penny and Melissa have been very supportive since the workshop. I then held a test workshop with a group of friends and received lots of honest and helpful feedback.
I am now running my own workshops and growing in confidence with each one.
I would really recommend this course to anyone thinking about teaching workshops for the first time. It's a great starting point, packed with tips and useful information."
